About MERA Products
Where are MERA products made?
Our scents are currently curated rather than manufactured by us directly. Each candle, diffuser, essential oil, and incense in our catalog is hand-selected from US-based artisans and small fragrance houses whose work best captures the East Asian scent traditions we grew up with. Products typically ship from California, New York, or the artisan's own studio.
Are MERA scents authentic to Korean traditions?
Yes — every scent profile is built around materials that have been used in Korean and East Asian homes for centuries: hinoki cypress, sandalwood, oud, agarwood, bamboo leaf, green tea, white plum blossom, dried persimmons. The names we give our scents (Persimmon Hour, Hanok Wood, Last Light at the Pavilion) are written in MERA's voice — the underlying ingredients are traditional.
Are your products clean and non-toxic?
The vast majority of our catalog is phthalate-free, paraben-free, and uses natural soy or coconut wax for candles. Each product listing specifies its ingredients. If you have a specific allergy or sensitivity, please email us before ordering.
Shipping & Delivery
How fast does MERA ship?
Most US orders arrive within 2 to 7 business days. We do not currently offer overnight or Prime-speed shipping. Each package is hand-prepared, which adds about a day on our end before it goes out.
Where does MERA ship?
Right now, we ship within the continental United States only. We are working on Canada and the UK for Phase 2.
How much does shipping cost?
Free standard shipping on US orders over $75. Below $75, flat $7 shipping. Digital products (like our PDF guides) are always free to deliver.
Returns & Exchanges
Can I return a product?
Unopened products can be returned for a full refund within 14 days of delivery. Once opened (especially candles, oils, and incense), returns are not possible for hygiene reasons — but if a product arrives damaged or you have any concern, please email us within 48 hours and we will make it right.
What if my candle arrives broken?
Email us within 48 hours with a photo and we'll ship a replacement at no charge. No returns required for damage.
Digital Products
How do I receive my digital download?
Digital products like The Korean Art of Scent are delivered automatically via email immediately after purchase. The email contains a download link that stays active for 30 days and allows up to 5 downloads. If you lose access, just email us.
Can I share my digital download?
The PDF is licensed for personal use only. Please don't redistribute commercially. If a friend would love it, gift them the link from our shop — it's an inexpensive, beautiful little gift.
